SACRED HISTORY OF BURMA The first story says that the monks of the Khmer English gave Sir Gordon Russell and his friend, the French diplomat Auguste Pavie, a couple of cats from Burma. The date on which this occurred is unclear, but it seems that cats were sent to France in 1919, although the male died on the voyage, the female was pregnant and had kittens. But it is believed more certain a second story, where it is said that in 1920 Mr. Vanderbilt, an American millionaire, bought a pair of Burmese who were stolen by a servant of the temple of Lao-Tsun. The male, called Madalpour, and the female, called Sita, were given to Mme Hadisch Thadden. But again, the male died on the ship, the female was pregnant and gave birth in 1920 in Nice (France). A kitten from this litter, called Poupée of Modalpour, was a perfect specimen of the race and was presented as first in the 1926 cat show. The race known as Birman was registered at French Cats in 1925. It is said that one of the successive layers of Poupée with male Siamese male born of Madalpour Manou, whose brands recalled to their mother. In those years successive Burmese were presented at various exhibitions. But it was not clear record of the genealogy of these early Birman. The official breeding Birman began in 1935, when he recorded the first two affixes: Madalpour and Kaabaa. But it was cut short with the onset of World War II. After the Second World War only a Burmese, Orloff of Kaabaa, was the only male player that gave rise to a line of descent. It was crossed with a different female line, of Xenia was born in Cava. And then Orloff and Xenia had a litter where they were born, Manou, Lon saito, Djaipour, Sita 1 and Sita 2. These cats were crossed with other long-haired cats to rebuild the race again, but there were no litters of pure Burmese until 1950. At that time all were sacred seal point. It was through crosses with cats Khmers (old variety of colorpoint Persian) and Persian blue as blue came the Burmese gene. Eloi-Eryx of Madalpour or mother-Cathou Caline is from whom descend the first blue Burmese point. Breeders of affixes "Crespières" and "Great Chapelles" founded the breed club in 1961. And they were recognized by the American Cat Fanciers' Association in 1966. By that time the model type of Birman and was born and already had many breeders, so it could begin with the selection and breeding of the Burmese.
